About The Band

Autopilot - Band

Certain guitar riffs unmistakably evoke the trademark sounds of The Beatles, The Stones, Eric Clapton , or Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan or many others.  The same goes for the unforgettable drumming heard in the Allman Brothers and behind Motown tunes, or the familiar bass run that makes you want to dance.  These sounds, artists, and their writing  are what Autopilot is all about.

The Band’s name came from the way a song-list materializes during the band’s performances.  Very often a chord progression, a beat, or a guitar break within one tune will evolve into the performance of another song by another artist – not guided by a list, but by a sound, a mood – on autopilot…

We enjoy playing music, and we play the music we enjoy.  Our music gets its energy from the joy of the audience dancing, laughing and having fun. Autopilot began playing clubs, private events and benefits in 2005.
